Salary: £43,516 to £46,549 per annum

Working Pattern: Full time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: County Hall Chichester, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ. (Hybrid and Flexible Working- required to work and travel across West Sussex where appropriate)

You will play a pivotal part in our Property and Assets directorate as an Area Building Surveyor. You will be required to identify betterment opportunities to reduce carbon emissions across the corporate property portfolio by near zero by 2030. You will effectively project manager the delivery of multiple and complex technical solutions.

This is a role that requires someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to negotiate solutions, manage conflicts and take a customer-focussed approach.

The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Building Surveying Team Manager, you will lead and co-ordinates multi-disciplinary approaches to the asset management of the built estate for both freehold and leased buildings. This includes: incorporating engineering-supplied technical information into Premises Development plans, Planned Maintenance and Minor Improvement specifications.

You will be responsible for supporting long-term planning of the service ensuring continuous improvement and business continuity. You will have the opportunity to mentor and provide on-the-job training to other team members to meet objectives and deliver a professional service.

About You!

You will be technically competent, flexible and good partnership working skills to responds to enquires and achieve positive outcomes.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating on a number of different levels with multiple stakeholders and adapting your style accordingly.

You will be organised in order to balance competing demands including cost, risk and time pressures, to deliver best practice outcomes that are compliant with statutory requirements. You will be comfortable making fast-time decisions when managing unpredictable caseloads and setting priorities.
