The Faculty The School of Computer Science and Informatics is based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. It offers a wide range of courses to other undergraduates and postgraduates in line with emergent demand and the nature of these fast-moving, competitive disciplines. The Role De Montfort University is looking for a dedicated Associate Professor (AP) in Games & Artificial Intelligence to join the organisation. Who we are looking for… The successful candidate will be a driven, enthusiastic, and engaging individual who will develop new initiatives and collaborations in the areas of Games and/or Intelligent Systems, in teaching, research, and enterprise. The Associate Professor will join the teaching group of Games, Mathematics & Intelligent Systems which offers a growing collecting of degree programmes. For research, the Associate Professor will join the world class Institute for Artificial Intelligence which achieved over 5,000 new citations of their work in 2019. The Associate Professor will be a senior member of these groups, with the particular brief of driving new initiatives in collaboration with external stakeholders such as industry, local organisations, and academic institutions and schools.
The Person The AP in Games & Artificial Intelligence will make a substantive contribution to both teaching, and research & enterprise. You will be an inspiring leader who can forge productive links with external stakeholders and engage colleagues in developing new ideas and initiatives. You will be keen to exploit the existing potential of a strong research and teaching base to make it even more innovative, enterprising, and impactful. You will be a team player, collaborating with senior colleagues and the management of the School and Faculty to achieve their strategic objectives.
