Job Title: BI Data Analyst (Ref: 20729)
Location: Staffordshire
Salary: £40-45k
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent (Monday - Friday)
Overview:
The newly created BI Developer/Analyst role has been created to:
Take user requirements and specifications and create useful reports and dashboards
Help users understand their data, reports and dashboards
Key responsibilities:
Taking input from agreed specifications and/or directly with users, create meaningful and usable reports and dashboards
To assist users with queries about their data, reports or dashboards and to assist with training, ensuring that end users understand how to use new tools and resolve any issues they may encounter
To help define and document key business metrics
To liaise with internal database experts to ensure timely, accurate and complete provision of information
To act as a key interface between the IT Team and the wider business
To act as a champion for IT solutions, helping to drive engagement, adoption, understanding and development of new systems and processes
To help raise the overall IT and Data Literacy of the organistion
To identify risks of current processes and find opportunities to improve them
Key skills:
Competence in building reports and dashboards in one or more recognized technologies such as (preferred): Power BI including DAX, or SSRS / Qlikview
Experience in operating in an Azure reporting / Data Warehouse environment
Ability to communicate clearly across a range of stakeholders including technical experts, Senior Management, Head-Office support teams and non-technical/operational users
Ability to gather, summarise and disseminate information effectively
Ability to present information both verbally, visually (for example in presentations) and in written form
Excellent team-working skills
Problem-solving mindset
Determination and tenacity to see things through to completion
Ability to prioritise and administer multiple competing tasks
Knowledge of IT systems, architecture and methodologies
Organised, methodical, thorough and logical approach
Time management skills
Understanding of GDPR legislation
Desirable: Knowledge of SQL relational databases and queries
