We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a DataEngineer to join our Data & Information Services responsible for datagrowth and innovation at Skipton. We’re a specialised team that thinks outsidethe box and help to design, develop, build and support data and analyticssolutions. Our role is to keep the business lean and agile and to ensure thatdata transferred between internal systems and external 3rd parties,is fit for purpose.
We’re committed to our investment in DataStrategy, allowing us to move to new Data Architecture using cloud-basedtechnologies. Our new Enterprise Data Warehouse will also increase capacity forchange throughout the organisation. This is an opportunity to bring your skillsto our team to support the implementation of our cloud based platform.
You’ll work collaboratively with other DataEngineers and Analysts, as well as colleagues from across the organisation todeliver trusted solutions that meet the Society’s information needs. As a dataexpert you’ll play a key role in the Society change hubs and play a pro-activerole in identifying process improvements and generating new ideas that willmaximise the value of data for the Society.
To be successful, you’ll need SQL developmentexperience and good knowledge of developing a data warehouse. You’ll becreative, respond well to challenges on a day-to-daybasis and be comfortableworking with ambiguity. We’re looking for someone who has excellentproblem-solving skills, is logical, and has a desire to deliver a great serviceto our stakeholders, whilst looking to develop themselves.
Experienceshould include: - Working with and designing a data platform - Knowledge of data modelling principles, including data lakes and warehousingtools - Implementation of end-to-end DWH and ETL pipeline solutions - Maintenance and optimisation of Data Warehouse solutions to maximiseperformance - Data analysis (any exposure to analytical tools would be advantageous) - Testing and software release management - Experience in business process and requirements analysis
Technology: - Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) - Microsoft Azure - Data Lake, Data Factory and Azure Synapse - Analytical Tooling – Azure ML, DataBricks
