About the Department
Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.
What is the Role?
The main purpose of the Business Analyst role is to secure, consolidate, analyse and provide accurate fact-based information relating to the financial and operational performance of the region to support decision making of the Head of Customer Operations.
You will facilitate the delivery of the business plan in line with RIIO ED1/2 and will contribute to the achievement of circa £5m+ incentive programme and delivery of targets. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing a work plan to ensure the Region delivers on outputs and report back to the Head of Customer Operations on progress against the plan and performance against customer requirements.
Key accountabilities of this role will include: measuring performance through the active use of KPI's; accountability for awareness of productivity, building an understanding of how we drive efficiency; reviewing, maintaining and improving current controls to meet the day to day management requirements; providing a comprehensive overview of finance and productivity KPI's through reports and proactive engagement with the leadership team and preparation of monthly reporting in a timely and accurate manner and the preparation of monthly and annual budgets in line with business plans.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate for this role will have strong management and organisational skills with experience of managing business plans and budgets to meet financial targets. You will have a sound understanding and experience of finance, operational performance, utilisation and reporting, including IT skills to effectively analyse performance data and deliver formal presentations.
The commitment to tools such as power BI will be vital to consolidate management information and support the Head of Customer Operations in their decision making.
