The Heartland Business Development Group (HBDG) is led by the Head of Business Development for Financial Services and our aim is to raise Grant Thornton’s profile with existing and perspective clients by assisting them meet and exceed their business, operational and compliance goals.
We work with the biggest clients across the sectors and are seen as trusted advisors, not only is the Financial Services Group well respected in the market by clients, but also valued for our expertise with regulators, trade bodies and educational institutions.

Alook into the role
As an Business Development Executive you will:
undertakes analysis of the sector you support (Investment Management, Banking, Capital Markets or Insurance sector and client base
supports the HBDG, sector leads, partners in the creation and maintenance of sales pipelines
targeted meeting generation - proactively setting-up business development meetings with clients, active targets, and intermediaries
work closely with FSG’s Knowledge & Pitch team in taking hot topics, insights, and propositions to the market
mange the business development events/marketing initiatives and campaigns for your sector
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as an Business Development Executive the minimum criteria you’ll need is to be educated to a degree level of equivalent, have business development or marketing experience and a proven track record of managing business development, key account and marketing programmes. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
CIM Diploma or working towards the equivalent business development qualification
Business Development experience targeting new business preferable
Previous experience in a similar role
