The firm is rolling out an invigorated national approach to Industries and Sectors, and this role will play an important function within this, by supporting the Deals & Business Consulting practice to develop and execute their business development strategy.

The Grant Thornton UK LLP Deals & Business Consulting (D&BC) practice works with clients to help them maximise value through the full deal lifecycle including corporate finance, financial and operational due diligence, valuations, carve outs and integrations and restructuring.

This role will work within the D&BC Business Development team and will contribute to the overall success of the D&BC business. This role will work closely with the D&BC Business Development lead, Marketing lead, as well as the wider Markets & Clients team, in ensuring that all Business Development activities are aligned to the overall business plan, are successfully carried out and in a timely manner. A look into the role

As a Business Development Assistant Manager within the Deals & Business Consulting team, you will:

  • Support the Deals & Business Consulting team with the implementation of the overall D&BC Business Development strategy, as well as the Industry and Sector strategy
  • Understand the financial performance and objectives, market position, target audience and related market dynamics of the D&BC business
  • Build relationships with the various key stakeholder groups, including the D&BC BD and Marketing team, the Regional Growth Managers, the Industry Heads, the Deals Leadership Team and the wider Markets & Clients team
  • Support the collaboration between the Sector BD and Regional Growth teams by facilitating knowledge-sharing
  • Work with the Business Analyst team to ensure we have robust reporting in place to help the team measure business performance within Deals & Business Consulting
  • Provide direct “on the ground” support where necessary to implement initiatives
  • Gathering insights, updates and success stories from the team ahead of operational update meetings, as well as to circulate these with relevant colleagues across the firm
  • Support the D&BC Business Development lead in delivering on strategic BD projects
  • Share D&BC and Sector insights across the firm in relevant forums

  • You’ll be able to demonstrate some business development experience
  • You’ll have strong organisational skills and a proactive can-do attitude
  • You’ll have experience of managing your own time and completing multiple tasks/ assignments with potentially competing deadlines

  • A good understanding of sales and or client management activity
  • Strong communication skills and project management experience
