We’re hiring!

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Director to join our Real Estate Practice based in our London office.  

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful individual to be responsible for driving the development of new business in accordance with sales plans. The role will involve prospecting and securing business from prospects, aswell as supporting team marketing initiatives.

Role purpose

Responsible for achieving new business client targets within the mid market real estate sector.

Key accountabilities

Your impact as a Business Development Manager
  • Initiate and close new business opportunities from potential new clients at agreed targets.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective clients, developing relationships at the highest level within the prospect company.
  • Establish the client’s needs and be able to articulate Aon’s risk management solutions for those needs in a professional way, utilising Aon’s real estate sector knowledge and insights such that we become the logical alternative to the incumbent broker;
  • Use corporate marketing and other materials to help to develop relationships with prospects. This includes active participation in periodic sales campaigns and cold calling days
  • Attend network events to generate new leads and contacts
  • Selling from across the full range of Aon services, with particular emphasis on real estate, construction and legal indemnity products to develop revenue streams and to build trust in Aon’s services.
  • Preparation and issuance of new business reports.
  • Effective management of prospect pipeline to enhance prospects experience whilst maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Management of client data to ensure records are up to date.
  • Compliance with business reporting requirements and FCA regulations.
  • Meet set Key Performance Indicators
  • Working to meet the customers’ needs by providing suitable insurance policies.
  • Achieve agreed level of sales to maximise revenue
  • Pass on knowledge of the client’s business and background to the new Aon service team, for cases won

You bring knowledge and expertise
  • Proven sales ability - technical understanding of new business sales
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated and organised
  • Knowledge of real estate sector preferred
  • Working in a regulated environment.
  • The ability to work towards and achieving targets
  • Effective client relationship management
