We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Gravesend. As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for hunting and developing new business opportunities within the scope of Target Customer Profile (TCP). You will be dealing at all levels you will have both an attention to detail and be comfortable at the strategic level. You will be required to win, nurture and grow accounts to the point they are ready for hand-over to an existing Account Manager. You will work closely with the Sales Director and Account Managers to maximise growth opportunities by networking with existing customers and building relationships at a director level.

Key duties and responsibilities....

  • The main owner, driver and winner of new strategic accounts for Fixmart.
  • Face to face meetings with all levels of decision makers and key influencers.
  • Managing and reporting on the sales opportunity pipeline.
  • Overcome objections from prospective clients and sell the benefits of using Fixmart, especially around our USP’s.
  • Upholding the core values and ethos of the company you are representing.
  • Become known as a thought-leader and solution provider within our industry.
  • Be knowledgeable and comfortable with the products, pricing and the markets.

Requirements

  • Clear understanding of sales procedures and processes, especially in planning, reporting and managing sales.
  • An effective presenter, communicator and relationship builder at all levels, with the ability to understand and translate the business needs of organisations and individuals.
  • Experienced price and contract negotiator.
  • Customer service mindset: high responsive with analytical problem-solving skills, ability to sell solutions, negotiate and execute the sale using value propositions, USP’s, advantages and benefits over against just price.
  • Fully understanding the role that emotion plays in customer experience and being able to fulfil that.
  • Being able to establish the customer pain points by opening the customers mind through intelligent questioning and understanding their needs.
  • Demonstrable track record in effective communication, motivation and influencing skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years sales experience and a proven track record of growing and maintaining sales in a B2B sales environment.
  • Previous experience in developing new business and product solutions.
  • A proven relationship builder with experience selling to directors and senior level decision makers, including procurement.
  • Demonstrate evidence and ability to consistently grow accounts inside and outside of their remit.
  • Proven experience building and managing a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Competent computer skills - Microsoft office programs, Pipedrive, ERP systems (Orderwise), Power-Bi
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid passport

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Benefits

  • £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
