The Destinations & Venues Sector of OCS supports large Retail Destinations, Sports Venues and Cultural Events and operates at many high-profile contracts including Westfield Stratford City, Manchester Arndale, Centre:MK, the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Group (including Utilita Arena), Etihad Stadium, Aston Villa FC and Newbury Racecourse.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for increasing the profitability of the sector through new sales generation.

This is a national role, so we welcome applications from across the UK.

Responsibilities will include:

Identify and secure new profitable contracts via proactive strategic selling, responding to reactive (in bound) opportunities and owning/leading competitive tender processes.

Cultivate new business by forging robust relationships with appropriate stake holders, both within OCS, amongst consultants and especially target clients directly, and then reacting to and managing real time requests for proposals.

Co-ordinate and work alongside operational and central support colleagues as part of a bid project team.

Seeking out major clients and forming working relationships with the premier buyers in the D&V Sector to ensure the Company is invited to participate in appropriate tenders.

Raise awareness of OCS within the sector by way of association membership, event attendance and development of professional networks, resulting in a pipeline of opportunities that meet our ideal client criteria.

Identifying and focusing on our key businesses (retail destinations, stadia, arenas, racecourses, ConFex and events).

Accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace.

Provide informed feedback on all sales leads and tender opportunities.

Management of data base and recording of activities resulting in accurate, detailed, and informative reporting.

Contributing to profitable sales strategies to keep D&V competitive and innovative.

Qualifications and Experience required:

Minimum of 4 years New Business Development experience within Facilities Management or a closely related industry (i.e. Catering Services) demonstrated by proven consistent results and achievements.

Degree level education (desirable)

IT literate (PowerPoint, Word and Excel) essential

Chartered Institute of Marketing (desirable)

Demonstrate skills in building relationships with economic buyers and influencers far in advance of any tenders.

The ability to understand how marketing can be used to enhance win rates.

Experience on major tenders and bids between £1m-£10m.

Strategic solution selling not transactional sales experience.

Working knowledge of Blue Sheet Process desirable
