We have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Destinations and Venues sector.
You will identify and deliver profitable contracts within the Retail division via proactive selling, competitive tendering & by maximising reactive opportunities. You'll cultivate opportunities either from within your own self-development database or from the existing OCS communities by forging relationships with appropriate stake holders and reacting to real time requests for proposals.
The successful person will be required to work alongside operational colleagues on larger opportunities as part of a project team.
The role will be homebased with UK travel required.
Responsibilities will include:
To maintain and develop a wide network of contacts within the Retail sector, building relationships in the designated marketplace to ensure the Company is invited to participate in appropriate tenders.
To remain fully knowledgeable of the sectors news, key players, competitors, innovations, challenges, and general intelligence. This is to be reported and shared effectively within the broader divisional team
To raise awareness of OCS within the sector by way of association membership, event attendance, networking, and development of professional networks. This is to result in a healthy pipeline of opportunities that meet our ideal criteria
To ensure that all tender responses are innovative, accurate, compliant, timely and professionally presented
To prepare and deliver all other aspects of the strategic sales process including awareness campaigns, presentations, exhibitions, and general market collateral
To follow up and provide feedback on all sales leads and tender opportunities
To effectively report activities and results via the agreed mechanisms, processes, and protocols.
To prepare and undertake a thorough hand-over to divisional and central colleagues as and when CRM, retention, or new business opportunities are converted
To be up to date with all new industry innovations for inclusion in tender responses
To maintain and update Salesforce to ensure accurate sales reporting
To undertake specific project work & support in mobilisations as required. Carry out site surveys to identify productivity and continuous improvement suggestions.
