Are you a dynamic nurse looking to progress their career within Cardiology? Would you like to participate in an emergency cardiac response team that literally helps to save lives on a regular basis? Do you excel at the ‘hands on’ part of the nurses role?
If so, we want to hear from you! The Cardiac Catheter Suite at The WHH Kent has a unique vacancy. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, you will develop your leadership skills in patient care, moving from the admission and recovery of day case cardiac patients, through to the circulating role in a Lab (Theatre) environment. You will participate in the Trust’s flagship primary PPCI on call service for patients with STEMI. Full support from senior staff and robust competency documentation will guide and support you.
Our Lab has a nominal working day at WHH of 08.00 to 18.00 Monday – Friday with out of hours oncall overnight and at weekends on a rota basis. We have a sister lab at QEQM who we work closely with and occasionally cross site cover is required. Almost all of our work involves x ray screening, and protective lead garments are worn for case lists. Like all parts of today’s NHS, we manage an increasing caseload, and our staff will need to be flexible to meet the needs of our patients.
We are looking for people who have previous experience of working in Cardiology at senior nurse level or some previous Cath Lab nurse experience. We will support and develop you to reach your full potential.
We would very much like to meet you for an informal look around our unit, explain our service in greater detail and answer your questions.
