We are recruiting for a Change and Release Manager to join our team working with an existing Change and Release Manager. You will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure. The change and release manager should have a background in IT understanding the high-level principles of networks and server infrastructures. They will be a highly organised individual capable of managing a large number of simultaneous changes. Previous experience of Change and Release Management will be an advantage. Backgrounds in Project Management, Software Delivery Management, or QA may also be applicable in this role.
Change and Release Manager Responsibilities
Accountable to ensure change follows the "Change Management Process" for IT change.
Review submitted changes ensuring quality and input onto service now.
Act as an approver of changes as part of a change group.
Manage the Change Calendar
Be the SME for the change process advising other parties as needed.
Drive continuous improvement in the change management process working with stakeholders and our partners
Manage and facilitate Secure File Transfers either one off or ongoing, using supplied tools and systems.
Manage and enable releases (some weekend and out of hours working required).
Support in Technical Project Management as needed. Project Management of small technical projects and initiatives.
Support Service Introduction as needed (e.g. cover for our Service Introduction Manager)
Change and Release Manager Skills & Experiences
Some, or all, of the below:
Background and a good conceptual understanding of Networks IT and Telephony infrastructure.
Quick and interested to learn new technologies at a conceptual level
Risk and Issue Management
Quality Assessment and Auditing
Process focused and able to define new processes
Software Development Lifecycle
Conceptual IT Security knowledge, firewalls etc
Service-related focus with an ability to place yourself in the position of an end user when evaluating the impact of changes.
Confident communicator, able to gain respect from peers and build lasting relationships whilst getting their position across when needed.
We are expecting to complete the recruitment process through a combination of telephone and video conference interviews due to current face to face restrictions. We are also experienced in on-boarding New Joiners during the current Covid-19 remote working situation.
This role will have an element of out of hours and weekend working as needed. Typically, once a month.
