This substantive post is aimed at senior individuals at Chair/Consultant level within Obstetrics & Gynaecology who have an established track record as a clinical academic at an internationally competitive level. The appointee will be accorded NHS Honorary Consultant status as appropriate. The appointee will benefit from the University of Aberdeen’s established excellence in Health Services research within the Institute of Applied Health Sciences as well as basic science research undertaken in the Institute of Medical Sciences and the Rowett Research Institute. The postholder will work at Foresterhill, the second largest single site medical complex in Europe which will soon have a new women’s hospital - the Baird Family Hospital including obstetrics and Gynaecology services, a Neonatal unit, a Centre for Reproductive Medicine, operating theatres and teaching facilities. Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical Consultant salary scale (£84,984 - £112,925 per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
