Job Title: Cloud Support Engineer

Location: Solihull Office, Hybrid

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Job Type: Perm, full-time (40 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 08:30 hrs - 17:30 hrs) plus out of hours on-call support.

The Role:

  • To work as part of a Technical Operations Team, supporting the Head of Technical Operations in the efficient running and management of internal sales-i IT applications and systems.
  • Being an integral part of the Technical Operations team ensuring the business can operate efficiently and securely.

Key result areas:

  • Ensuring sales-i infrastructure security standards are monitored and maintained
  • Delivery of a controlled, documented, secured and stable internal domain
  • GDPR compliance
  • Ensuring sales-i production data is backed up in line with the company backup and retention policy
  • Delivery of managed builds for all server deployments, both virtual and physical
  • Support in securing sales-i environments
  • Working with the wider Tech Ops team to ensure all environments are monitored and any issues or breaches are swiftly identified, resolved and closed off
  • Working with the wider Tech Ops team to successfully select, build, configure and support a production pipeline to enable to company to deploy code at will to production
  • Work with Tech Ops to select, build, configure and commission such tools as are required to support the development and support processes as they evolve
  • Working with the appropriate teams, internal and external, to ensure all servers are patched and secure
  • Support with implementing and maintaining ITIL standards

Core responsibilities and duties

  • Install, configure and manage sales-i products, systems and services
  • Working with other departments to deploy sales-i software
  • Standardise software builds across sales-i environments, automating where possible
  • Using scripts to automate and simplify common procedures where possible
  • Being a technical resource for other departments to improve internal processes
  • Act as an advisor to the Head of Technical Operations on new technologies and cloud services which may benefit sales-i
  • Supporting the build and maintenance of production pipelines
  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructures
  • Provisioning new architecture and services through automation
  • Documenting cloud infrastructure
  • Documenting backup and recovery systems, processes, procedures
  • Provide support for any incidents that occur in either production or internal environments according to Tech Ops SLAs
  • Investigate and report on incidents as required by the Tech Operations Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Either MSCE or MCITP in relevant areas
  • Minimum 5 years' experience building and managing Microsoft Server based environments
  • ITIL Foundation

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Server, SharePoint, SCCM, MDM and DLP tools
  • Microsoft Azure solution design and management
  • Windows 10/11 Desktop, Office 365 management
  • Have experience in using PowerShell to create and run scripts and ability to use understand basic C#
  • MS SQL DBA skills to write and run queries to determine issues
  • Willingness to work with other systems, including Linux, Networks, FTP, DFS, Comms systems etc.
  • Write and update technical documentation - intermediate level
  • Project Management - basic level
