Key Roles & responsibilities to Client will include: • Dealing with a wide range of commercial work to involve advising, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of agreements. • Provision of guidance and advice on wide area of commercial law: Data Protection, IT / Tech (including SaaS and Software), Competition Law, Outsourcing, Commercial Distribution, Agency and Joint Venture Agreements, data protection including implementation and operational management of GDPR compliance risks. • Support to Clients on legal risk management, contract lifecycle management processes and tools. • Acting for a wide range of clients in key sectors of FinTech, Facilities Management, International distribution, Retail Marketing and Aviation. • Act as client relationship manager for allocated key client, building commercial awareness and business strategy
Key Roles and Responsibilities within Commercial Team will include: • Support, guidance and mentoring of the newly qualified solicitor, trainee and paralegal within the team. • Helping to develop and create commercial propositions for clients • Independently triaging work into the department and providing support for scoping, pricing and allocation of work with the Partner. • Assist with business development initiatives in accordance with the Firm’s strategy. • Participate and actively contribute to knowledge development initiatives of the team. • Managing a large and varied caseload with a strong commercial approach • Playing a supporting role in building the business; developing marketing initiatives and drawing on existing contacts.
Legal • 6+ years post qualification experience • In-house experience as a legal advisor (not only on secondment) • Experience working with and advising both commercial client (at all levels) directly, as well as in-house counsel. • General commercial contract experience, including negotiation and drafting of complex agreements in FinTech, Facilities Management (including catering outsourcing for education), Retail Marketing and Aviation. • An understanding of data protection / GDPR issues in relation to guidance on privacy policies, compliance programme implementation, data subject rights and complex data sharing arrangements. • Experience of some or all of the following: -Distribution and agency contracts for offshore manufacturers -Commercial Joint Ventures -Education Catering outsourcing -IT / software and technology contracts -Advising on technical online platforms and SaaS / Cloud computing arrangements -Working with banking or financial services -Procurement / outsourcing contracts.
General • Solid IT skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook , Microsoft Teams • A high level of motivation, drive and commitment. • The ability to work as part of a team within both the Commercial team and other internal teams across the business • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills • Client focus, with a strength in building and sustaining relationships • Commercial awareness • A determination to provide a truly outstanding service to clients, both as a lawyer and a trusted adviser • A developing affinity with marketing and business development • The ability to work well under pressure.
