Due to continued business growth, we are now looking for an experienced Compliance Specialist to join our Legal and Compliance team in the UK.


The Role


The Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for informing and championing good practice with regard to business operations and customer excellence through adoption, regular audit and implementation of recognised business improvement measures and tools.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Mirus’ Integrated Business Management System which includes Quality, Information Security and Environmental standards
  • Liaise with third party accreditation bodies such as BSI
  • Co-ordinate and manage alongside 3rd party internal and external audits/surveillance visits applicable to relevant ISO Standards, ISO 9001, 27001,14001
  • Take ownership of customer surveys and ensure that improvements are logged and implemented
  • Own the businesses complaints policy and procedure
  • Prepare monthly presentation for review by the SMT around the health and status of the Business Management System 
  • Train and support Managers, Colleagues and Teams on all aspects of Mirus’ Business Management System and procedural best practice
  • Inform and advise the organisation and its employees about their obligations under GDPR and other Data Protection Laws
  • Assist the business as required to ensure compliance and drive forward continuous improvements
  • Assist colleagues in developing and updating Policies and Process maps
  • Assist with ensuring all suppliers used by the organisation are evaluated and re-evaluated and that records of assessments are maintained
  • Analyse the effectiveness of the Business Management System, including maintaining the Mirus audit programme, performing and documenting internal audits and where appropriate drive improvements
  • Progress the realisation of Mirus’ Environmental Policy and reduction in carbon footprint through impact assessments and achievement of targets
  • Maintain the Mirus Group Risk Log and ensure Risk Treatment Plans are implemented appropriately
  • Ad hoc tasks as required by the Group Compliance Officer

Required Skills and Capabilities


Essential:

  • Demonstrable previous experience in a similar compliance focused role
  • Strong report writing skills - both management and technical
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills for working with teams and individuals at all levels of the organisation
  • Creative, analytical problem solver with the ability to apply original and innovative thinking
  • Ability to effectively prioritise differing workload
  • Able to work both within a team and using own initiative
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite incl. Visio
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment 

Desirable:

  • Maintenance of certification to either ISO 9001, 27001 or 14001 within a business of equivalent size or larger
  • Competent process and/or risk-based auditor
  • Experience working as part of a wider service delivery function
  • Experience with SharePoint

Package

  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Role based out of our Milton Keynes offices (all employees are currently working remotely in line with government guidelines, however on return to offices there will be an expectation for the employee to work in the offices a minimum of 2 days per week)
