St Mary’s University is looking to appoint a experienced Conferencing and Events Manager to lead our professional, dedicated in-house team. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis based in London. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £44,737 per annum.

About the Conferencing and Events Manager role:
You will be responsible for working with a variety of clients, delivering a wide range of events from summer schools and conferences to VIP events and parties, working with colleagues across the University.
You will be an experienced event organiser, particularly with high level events and summer schools. Organised and creative with exceptional attention to detail, you will work well under pressure. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Conference and Events Office, including staffing, financial management and reporting. You will have an understanding of the networks and contexts within which the University operates and how events can develop and maintain these networks.
You will be actively involved with all aspects of events management, with a focus on strategy and operational management. You will have operational experience in events and marketing, and be comfortable dealing with a range of clients including academics, visiting professors, high profile individuals, language school teachers and children’s clubs.
You will need to work flexibly including some evening and weekend work, especially in the summer months when the Conferencing team manages residential bookings in the student accommodation on campus. You will be representing the University at a wide range of events.
About our Conferencing and Events Manager:
We are seeking professional candidates who understand the importance of providing an exemplary service and have a passion for the hospitality industry. You must be extremely organised with a good approach to problem solving, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload. Exceptional communication and customer service skills are essential, as is experience in event planning, whilst experience of using a hospitality database would be an advantage.
