We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Architect to join us at our Head Offices in Leeds.

Why Join our IT Team?

As a business, Hermes is driven by our four values of; Do the right thing, Dare to be different, Strive for more and Be customer obsessed. It’s because of these values that we are the UK’s leading consumer delivery service handling over 380 million parcels per year and still growing and our IT team help to drive that growth.

Hermes has undergone a significant transformation moving from a parcel centric business to a customer focused business. There continues to be significant investment into IT realising Hermes’ vision of being a digital business with data being a significant enabler for the Hermes Business Strategy.

The Hermes Architecture team set the direction for IT Strategy to enable the realisation of business outcomes required to deliver the business strategy. The Enterprise Data Architect maintains the conceptual data model and governs the delivery against this vision.

You will work with the Enterprise Data Architect, business stakeholders the Enterprise Data Services team and the Software Engineers to be accountable for the physical data models and overseeing the delivery of new databases and updates to existing data domains.

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Experience of producing new physical data models from logical models and, where necessary, creating physical models of existing databases.
  • Working in mixed vendor multi-cloud environments with exposure to AWS
