ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for an Events and Marketing Officer to join NIAB’s Corporate Communications and Events team to co-ordinate and deliver our corporate events programme; from online workshops to on-farm events, from scientific conferences to trade events and exhibitions across the UK. You will also assist in the delivery of our corporate communications programme, working with teams and services across NIAB in delivering marketing materials, website content and event graphics.
This is an opportunity for someone with either a background in business or events administration, or a new graduate looking for their first step on the communications career ladder. Apprenticeship opportunities available.
You’ll be working in a lively, dynamic atmosphere, where tact and discretion excellent communication skills will be invaluable in your dealings with important customers and visitors. You will also need to be practical with good DIY skills, as you’ll be supporting exhibition stand builds from field to conference centre. This role can sometimes be physically demanding, working at both indoor and outside events and involving manual handling of items up to 15kg.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with occasional work outside normal working hours.

The role is primarily based at NIAB Park Farm, Histon, Cambridge, CB24 9NZ, 4 miles from Cambridge city centre, with some homeworking being possible. Free on-site parking and linked by cycle ways and regular buses to Cambridge city centre and railway station. Close to Junction 32 of A14, with easy access to M11, A10 and A11.
