Overview


Having undergone substantial growth in the last 12 months, AGI UK is looking to expand its finance team with a senior finance professional, to ensure that the core data and controls are robust and continually value adding. 


The role will report into the Head of Finance for AGI UK and work within a dedicated, high performing finance team. The ideal candidate will be a good team player, comfortable in making decisions and possess the ability to work independently to complete tasks.


Job brief


The Finance Manager will be responsible for day-to-day finance functions and will manage the financial controls, government reporting and month-end closing procedures.


To be successful in this role, the Finance Manager should possess a proven background in a similar role, ideally within the SME sector.


Ultimately, you will help AGI UK grow by ensuring our finance data and systems are accurate and efficiently managed. You will also be expected to thrive whilst upholding and promoting the AGI mission and values https://about/mission-vision/


Requirements


Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the accounts payable and receivable functions operate smoothly
  • Act as first point of contact for finance team questions
  • Ensure accurate daily cashflow recording and monthly forecasting
  • Maintain accurate VAT accounting records; ensuring the company is compliant in all legislation changes and implementing any change accordingly
  • Manage the monthly closing processes of the finance team
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations; E.G fixed assets, bank, prepayments, accruals etc.
  • Maintain monthly intercompany reconciliations (both national and international entities)
  • Preparation and processing of regular and ad-hoc journals
  • Help establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Support the production of new financial KPIs and help drive the operational teams to improve performance

Role requirements

  • Successful, proven experience in relevant finance roles.
  • Core understanding of UK GAAP
  • Experience using Sage Line 50
  • Group accounting knowledge & experience
  • Cost centre accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, index look-ups, nested formulas etc...) 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail resulting in consistent, reliable information
  • Ability to work independently ensuring high quality output
  • Relevant accountancy qualification (part qualified will be considered)

Additional desired

  • Experience using Netsuite would be advantageous (currently Sage
  • SQL / Microsoft query reporting skills
