Frontend Developer- QBE Insurance- 3 months initially - London (fully remote with occasional office visit)

About the opportunity:

You will be working on DES DevHub development\enhancement activities against the documented requirements for MVP release projected for June 30,2023 focusing on building developer end user experience in QBE. This role is required to support DevHub development activity which includes developing required developer landing page and additional transactional screens\pages in DevHub with integrations to existing and modern DevSecOps tooling providing segmented dashboards, onboarding 3 pilot applications from the divisions into DevHub application to regional development teams for faster and better end user experience with single pane of glass for the tools developers work on which results in cost savings, increase speed and agility to foster secure and stable solutions to the market for QBE Business.

As Frontend Developer you will design, code, test, correct, and document moderately complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools. You will also collaborate in reviews of specifications, with others as appropriate. You will work closely with the team of software engineers to build, customize and integrate software solutions as well as update existing systems and integrate improvements to work on the applications already in operation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivering effective applications for business use by analyzing business requirements and consulting with key stakeholders to clarify and ensure program specifications and technical solutions align with business needs;
  • Building applications by translating specifications into programming language and forecasting solutions to anticipated problems to ensure effectiveness of programs for business use;
  • Fostering a thorough approach to finalizing developed applications by participating in testing of functionality and analyzing sample data-sets to ensure accuracy of program output and support the achievement of quality assurance and key stakeholder standards; and
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders by participating in design and code reviews and escalating issues to troubleshoot errors and gaps, refine processes and technical standards and ensure continual effectiveness of team deliverables.
  • Following the SDLC processes in the design and delivery of technology solutions;
  • Ensuring that all required compliance needs are adhered to;
  • Escalating complex issues when they arise; and
  • Supporting a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensuring customer impacts are assessed and addressed in the design and delivery of solutions;
  • Delivering solutions meeting customers' needs, e.g., eBusiness, online tools; and
  • Providing handover application changes and enhancements as well as support as required.
  • Estimating effort for activities, report on progress and manage all activities within agreed budget;
  • Analyzing business requirements, design and implement solutions;
  • Completing QA and regression testing; and
  • Assisting with performing releases, handover and support activities as required.
