£38,600 - £58,000 depending on skills and experience + car / cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?


As Geotechnical Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in our Engineering and Innovation Centre's Structures Team providing geotechnical support to our offshore wind portfolio of projects. You'll be accountable for assisting in the planning, execution, and delivery of various geotechnical activities including geotechnical interpretative and foundation design processes. You'll be responsible for the review of technical reports by third parties, including feasibility studies, geotechnical design basis', foundation & substructure designs, and more.


What do I need?


We are looking for someone who is educated to Masters degree level in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology and have an understanding of the guidance, standards, and legislation relevant to offshore wind development. Chartered or close to sitting your Chartership Professional Review is essential.


Due to the nature of this role, we also require you to have experience in the majority of the following areas; in order of relevance and importance to the role:


- Offshore wind foundation design and an appreciation of the common design codes and standards


- Interpretation of ground investigation results: unitisation, parameters identification, design parameters profiles, and development of Geotech Design Basis documents.


- Offshore ground investigation and laboratory test scheduling, standard and advanced.


- The design and decision-making process for Large scale projects involving international multi-disciplinary teams.


- Geo hazard identification and risk assessment.


- Leg penetration and pile driveability analyses.


- The verification process through certification agencies such as DNV-GL and Lloyds register.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential, as will an an innovative mind set, a flexible approach and the capacity to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a demanding environment.


A degree of travel will be required; therefore, you should have a full and valid driving license.
