Head of Quality & Governance – Salary £50k plus 5k car allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced clinical professional. The Head of Quality & Governance is a vital role to lead our Quality and Governance transformation strategy at Excelcare. The Q & G team provide support and guidance to our 31 care and nursing homes to ensure we operate in line with CQC regulations, legislation, best practice, and high-quality clinical standards.

We are a privately owned care provider, and we operate in a fast paced, forward-thinking environment to continually improve standards of quality and regulatory compliance throughout our homes across South London, Essex, Cambridge, and Milton Keynes. Our Support Office is based in Bromley, Kent. Offering outstanding care to the people who live in our services is at the heart of everything we do.

About you:

  • You’ll need to have strong interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to build credibility, trust, and integrity.
  • A strong, effective communicator with proven experience at a senior level within social care, leading quality, and governance teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • You’ll have in-depth experience of Quality & Governance best practice gained in a care or nursing home setting.
  • Proven experience of developing and enforcing quality standards in clinical and care settings.
  • Confident managing and overseeing complex clinical casework and comfortable with making and being accountable for evidence-based decisions.
  • The ability to identify and enforce improvements where necessary with the use of existing policies, procedures, systems, and monitoring tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • The ability to challenge, act independently, make judgements and support outcomes and decisions.
  • To support staff and teams where improvements are required
  • Be a lateral thinker, analytical, creative, have strong integrity and persuasive communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills – able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Be a driver with own car.
