The UK & Ireland operations have approximately 950 FTE across a network of branches and a further 1000 FTE predominately based out of the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. The Head Office is in London and the majority of the central service functions are based from there.
Due to the continued growth of our division, we are now looking to recruit a Relationship Manager. Working in a dedicated and experienced team you will be supporting the business on new business and managing a panel of established clients.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Working in this high profile team you will be responsible for account managing a portfolio of insurance business accounts carriers in the London and Australian insurance market to increase sales of insurance products. Based in London with travel to Australia as required. • You will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of several business accounts. Involvement in monthly Meetings (preparation, attendance, notes & actions) Quarterly Reviews (more formal with minutes) Annual Review (usually as part of Renewal Exercise) Ad-hoc meetings as required to support Focus Areas Maintenance of Action Tracker. • Working closely with our claims department monitoring performance of the panel of insurers in regard to the payment of claims. • Supervision of accounting work, ensuring invoices are raised and issued in a timely manner. • Establish terms of credit and ensures timely payment by the client, renegotiates payment terms and initiates legal action to recover debts if necessary. • Insurer Survey Reports (input into design, question set (via the Qualtics Platform), 'deep-dive areas', 1-2-1 meetings. Checking of initial & final drafts, delivery to carriers and follow- up meetings to discuss findings and agree remedial actions). These will need to be completed for both the UK & Australian Market. • Be the point of contact for general trouble-shooting & problem solving. • Business development, leverage existing insurer relationship to prospect potential new clients in both London and Australia. • Production and analysis of data reports illustrating premium growth, share of wallet, rank etc. in various line of business. • Provide input into design of Services (what else can we do / charge for - what are our competitors offering which is of real benefit to our insurer partners). • Participate on contract negotiation including liaison with carriers/and Lockton's own Legal & Compliance teams (note, all contracts must be agreed, signed by both parties and lodged with the Lockton Finance team by 30/04). • Coaching & mentoring of junior associates. • Ad-hoc requests for assistance from around the business. • We are supported by 20+ Partners in the business (mainly London) on various accounts but they are busy people and need to be prompted, coaxed, reminded etc.
• Graduate • Must have in depth knowledge of both the London and Australian insurance market. The ideal candidate would already have established insurer contacts in these markets that we can utilise for business development. • Must be CII qualified or working towards a professional Insurance qualification. • A good understanding of various insurance terms and placement structures. • In depth understanding of the Lloyd’s Market and ability to analyse data via the Lloyd’s Placing Platform Limited. • Confident using the Qualtrics Platform for the various Insurer Survey Reports. • Ability to build and maintain good business relationships with clients, insurers and associates. • Understanding of a client’s business issues, insurance needs and expectations.
• The ideal candidate will be extremely organised and be able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously. • Confident presenting to C-Suite level. • Analytical skills with the ability to analyse premium data and present this to insurer partners in a clear and concise manner. Confident using the Business Intelligence Platform. • An understanding of the legal principles of insurance. • An understanding of insurer rating methods for each class of insurance. • An understanding of risk management concepts and when these are useful to clients. • Knowledge of how to implement and manage global insurance programmes, working with a network of offices, to ensure seamless service delivery. • Presentation skills in both preparation and execution. • Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives. • A working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
