We are looking to expand our internal audit team with a motivated and competent individual. The successful candidate will be able to quickly adapt to Higher Education environment, with the ability to quickly and efficiently gain an understanding of systems and processes, and make sensible and relevant recommendations to improve processes and manage risk.
The Internal Audit Service is highly regarded and is well placed to have a significant positive impact on the future of the University. The University has a £600m research portfolio, and a vast and diverse teaching offering, with over 30,000 students, as well as significant commercial activities spread across three UK campuses, which makes the remit of the Internal Audit Service varied and interesting. We also have two overseas campuses (China and Malaysia) so international travel is a possibility.
Day to day the role will involve:
Planning and carrying out internal audit reviews in the following areas:
You will also follow up on recommendations to ensure they have been appropriately and effectively implemented, and you may be asked to assist on ad hoc investigations.
We are looking for a CCAB or equivalent qualified or exam qualified candidate with professional services experience (internal audit, external audit or advisory). Whilst Higher Education internal audit experience is desirable, we are looking for a candidate with the right skills and behaviours to be successful, so this is not a pre-condition of application.
This is a permanent full-time post, however job share arrangements and part time applications will be considered.
Informal enquiries will be addressed to Jenny Vempati: Jenny.Vempati@nottingham.ac.uk or Alasdair Colston: Alasdair.Colston@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications directly to these email addresses will not be accepted.
Our University has always been a supportive, inclusive, caring and positive community. We warmly welcome those of different cultures, ethnicities and beliefs – indeed this very diversity is vital to our success, it is fundamental to our values and enriches life on campus. We welcome applications from UK, Europe and from across the globe.
