This is a hybrid role with the potential to work 2 days from home each week. Some travel may be required to the Rugby office if based in London.

This is a crucial role within the Airwave Security team; ensuring security is fit for purpose and is delivered through empowered, knowledgeable experts within the team. The team is responsible for the effective design, implementation, operation and control of security systems and processes to protect our business.

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Architect to join our UK Airwave Security team. The security architect will create and designs security for a system or service, maintain security documentation and develop architecture patterns and security approaches to new technologies.

At this role level, you will:

  • Recommend security controls and identify solutions that support a business objective
  • Provide specialist advice and recommend approaches across teams and various stakeholders
  • Communicate widely with other stakeholders
  • Advise on important security-related technologies and assess the risk associated with proposed changes
  • Inspire and influence others to execute security principles
  • Help review other people’s work
  • You will also be responsible for the security by design process as well as reviewing HLD and LLD documentation to ensure that the correct security controls are in place. The role is to review critical infrastructure systems and software projects across all industry sectors and being the subject matter expert providing security guidance to the design teams. Your engagements will be consulting-led, focused on understanding the customers’ business, building trust and providing cyber security expertise across security architecture, product selection and detailed design.

Responsibilities:

  • Mitigate the risks and conform to the relevant security policies
  • Balance information risk against cost of countermeasures
  • Ensure security best practices are implemented in a consistent way across the programme and drive the overall design.
  • Working with agile developers and testers to ensure security best practices are built into the software development life cycle.
  • Working to articulate current risks against the system, the proposed mitigation and support the on-going accreditation process.
  • Creating, running and managing the security processes and procedures within the projects, to maintain the security of the system, personnel, and appropriate environments using 'secure by design’ methodology.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as a Security Architect.
  • TOGAF, CISSP or relevant qualification.
  • Must have expert knowledge in reviewing security designs and implementing security controls.
  • Knowledge of PKI will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of F5 firewalls will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Tetra Networks
  • Must be able to articulate security issues and risk
  • Knowledge of OWASP, CIS, ISO27001 frameworks
  • Knowledge of Mobile Telecommunication Network will be an advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast paced high-pressure environment.
  • Will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of security by design, security controls and risk mitigation within various projects and work streams.
