Java Developer: Ageas Insurance is seeking skilled Java Developer with demonstrable experience of actively using Java and Spring boot to deliver solutions in a business environment to join our dynamic and innovative IT team.

Main Responsibilities as Java Developer:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain java application phases.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Develop technical designs for application development.
• Develop application code for java programs.
• Recommend changes to improve established java application processes.
• Provide timely and detailed status updates.

To be successful in being considered for the Java Developer role you will need the following knowledge, skills and experience:

• A solid background in web services development(RESTful/SOAP/JSON etc.) with extensive knowledge in Java 8x and experience of Spring Boot to create web APIs
• Experience of creating unit tests using Junit/Mockito etc.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure to deliver cloud-based integrations
• Exposure to software management tools e.g. GIT.
• Effective analytical skills, taking a methodical approach to problem solving
• Good knowledge of web design principles, development, architecture, and standards
• Proactive and self-organised with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong team working and collaboration skills (communication is critical)
• A positive approach to challenges, enthusiasm to tackle new technology and ability to take ownership
• Some knowledge of agile methodology and practices is beneficial

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Microservices architecture.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Spring Webflux
• Experience in the insurance industry.
