LEAD PHARMACIST – HEPMA AND IT PHARMACIST - BAND 8A

Salary Scale £49,480 - £53,414 per annum
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven pharmacist to join our new team to deliver HEPMA in the Highlands. You will work with the Regional HEPMA team which is hosted in NHS Grampian and includes Grampian, Highland, Tayside, Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland to develop the WellSky HEPMA solution and processes for the region.
In conjunction with the eHealth Systems Manager and with the support from the rest from the wider eHealth and pharmacy team you will lead the safe implementation and ongoing delivery of HEPMA in NHS Highland North. This includes 1 district general hospital, 2 rural general hospitals, 1 psychiatric hospital and 13 community hospitals. You will travel to the different sites to support roll out of HEPMA and resolution of any ongoing issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
Delivering HEPMA will be the main focus of this post particularly initially, but you will work with the e-Health and the pharmacy team on other IT projects. This will include working with the senior pharmacy team to identify, evaluate and deliver new technology/software that can improve patient care. You will also have an opportunity to deliver a clinical pharmacy service to a set area/service
This is a really exciting time to join the hospital pharmacy team. We are introducing HEPMA and also installing robotics in both our dispensary and distribution services. This technology will allow us to improve patient services, patient safety and the efficiency of our services. This post will be perfect for someone who enjoys a challenge and wants to be at the heart of a team delivering positive change for patients and staff.
You may be required to participate in an on-call rota and will be required to work occasional weekends and public holidays. The post in based at Raigmore hospital but during the COVID pandemic some home working may be beneficial to facilitate social distancing.
You should be a pharmacist independent prescriber who is registered with the GPhC. You should have significant hospital pharmacy experience and a post graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice. Experience with electronic prescribing systems is desirable but not essential as we will all have lots of learning to do.
