Established in 1828, the University of Central Lancashire is a leading modern University located in the city of Preston. The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, which also includes Medicine and Dentistry. The School offers several undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare related degrees including the Master of Pharmacy and accredited BSc Biomedical Sciences. The School offers a friendly and supportive learning environment with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Biochemistry who will help lead teaching provision within the School. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team and make a significant contribution to the leadership of teaching, learning, assessment, research and income generation.
The motivated and enthusiastic applicant will hold a PhD and a good honours degree in a Biomedical Sciences or related area and have experience of teaching Biosciences in higher education. They will also have the ability to teach clinical biochemistry. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate level teaching in the areas of clinical biochemistry and related subject areas.
Excellent communication skills, involvement in delivery of teaching and the ability to work in a team are essential for this position. As is the ability to undertake research/ knowledge transfer activities, have a flexible and innovative approach to teaching & leaving and being IT literate.
