Lecturer in Construction, Full Time, Permanent

The School of Engineering and the Built Environment (SEBE) is delighted to offer a new post in Construction. SEBE has experienced a growth of under and post-graduate students in construction over the past decade. In addition to an undergraduate programme in Construction Project Management, the School now also offers equivalent post-graduate programmes available on-Campus and Online. Research activity has also expanded markedly over the past decade and is currently focused on off-site construction, building energy performance and building retrofit. Traditionally this research activity has been conducted by the Institute for Sustainable Construction. From September 2021 this shall be channelled through the Centre for Smart Energy and Sustainable Construction.

Given the success of both the taught programmes and research activity in SEBE, construction is now one of the principal and distinctive features of the School and as a result the University is keen to appoint a Lecturer in Construction able to capitalise on this, be it by expanding the growing teaching and learning portfolio, or by further enhancing the research effort.

In terms of teaching and learning, the post offers the opportunity to lead SEBEs Construction Innovation, Production Management, Project Management and Procurement Strategy modules and drive the development of the School’s post-graduate dissertation provision. In terms of research, the successful candidate shall be invited to conduct research in the field of smart energy and sustainable construction.
