The School of Mathematics and Computer Science manages a well-established portfolio of Mathematics and technology-related courses covering such areas as Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems as well as new specialism degrees in topics such as Data Science, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and Cybersecurity.
We are seeking candidates of the highest calibre, with the interest, enthusiasm and experience to contribute to the development of innovative programmes of teaching, research and consultancy in Data Science. You must possess a PhD Degree in computer Science or equivalent industrial experience.
You will be expected to teach Data Science at undergraduate and postgraduate level and deliver bespoke Data Science training programmes. You possess very good inter-personal skills, highly developed communication and organisational skills and a capability to motivate students.
You will work with staff and students in the pursuit of research both as an individual and as part of the wider School and Faculty activities, encompassing complementary research areas by contributing to the work of established research groups. Hence, you should have a track record of dissemination of research outputs / achievements in high quality scientific/technical journals and have the potential to attract research funding and/or generate external income.
The ability to conduct and supervise research and contribute towards appropriate external income initiatives is desirable.
