The overall purpose of post is to undertake academic related responsibilities in the delivery of high quality student education in Sport and Exercise Science (physiology), Laboratory Techniques in Sport and possibly contribute to the teaching of other exercise and health related areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Also, to lead modules and the ability to supervise student projects and dissertations.
You should have:
A MSc in Sport and Exercise Science or similar programme
Extensive experience in the following: Teaching Sport & Exercise Physiology or Teaching laboratory techniques
Significant teaching experience at undergraduate level in Higher Education
Experience to design, deliver and assess academic programmes
Ability to supervise undergraduate research projects
An understanding of the practical application of exercise physiology in sport and exercise with a particular focus on laboratory techniques and fieldwork I
A detailed understanding of sports and health relevant aspects of exercise physiology its application to practice. A/I
You will be:
Teaching students using appropriate instruction methods such as online lectures, tutorials, seminars, e-learning and other formal pedagogic work
Aspiring to work towards undertaking quality research, professional publishing and scholarly activity as directed by the Programme Lead
Participating in, the administrative processes of the Faculty, including committee membership, quality assurance, recruitment, selection and admission of students
Undertaking curriculum development work including identification of student requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses as well as course materials within the sport and physiology strand provision
