What would you do as our Legal Counsel and Data Protection Manager (AAOS UK & Irland)?

You will manage supplier and customer contract reviews and negotiations, trade compliance processes, competition/anti-trust compliance, anti-bribery and corruption procedures, legal and compliance process integrations following M&A activities, data protection compliance and provide other ad hoc legal advice as required.
You would also:

• take a proactive and hands-on approach to all legal tasks that may be assigned to them and to develop an expertise across a broad range of subject areas.
• provide accurate, timely and pragmatic advice to senior managers and other stakeholders in the organisation, on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their products or services, providing confidence in subject matters and commercial risks.
• research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations and deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and develop best practices for reducing the UK&I region’s contractual, compliance and data protection risks.
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including General Counsel EMEIA, Compliance Officer EMEIA, Commercial Contracts Counsel EMEIA and Data Protection Manager EMEIA, as required.

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified Lawyer in England/Wales (or Ireland)
• Has experience of negotiating and drafting commercial, supplier and customer agreements and previous experience in working within a technology/manufacturing business with digital content/web environments.
• Is confident and has the ability to inspire the confidence and trust of others and conduct role with integrity.
• Has strong team working skills, including the eagerness to pitch in and help at all levels.
• Has Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think laterally. Commercial awareness of the context in which legal advice/assistance is given/received is key.
• Whilst the role is expected to be based at the company’s Willenhall office, it has a national focus with some travel within the UK and Ireland being required from time to time (including occasional overnight stays where required).
