Norroy Capital Corp (a joint venture owned/managed by Glencore and HNA) is a global oil and gas midstream business with terminal assets and operations in Europe, Africa, the Middle-East and the Americas. The group is managed from offices in London and Hong Kong.
We are currently seeking to appoint a self-motivated individual to the role of Management Accountant. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Financial Controller this role is based in the London office and will form an integral part of a small team with overall management of the group.
This is a newly created position with the expectation that the candidate has the analysis skills and ability to build financial models, reports, tools and management and board level dashboards. This role will be central to group monthly reporting, periodic reviews (e.g. budgeting and reforecasting) and well as ad-hoc initiatives such as projects and M&A. It will be diverse with new challenges on a daily basis. The candidate must be hard-working and embrace various challenges as and when they arise.
A Big 4 accounting background is preferable due to the overlap with the Financial Controller and the ability to provide cover is essential. The role will be broad in scope and the successful candidate will be expected to be hands on within the details, display strong IFRS knowledge and have the ability to manage and advise on accounting inputs, understand the outputs and translate these into management and board level analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Preparation of monthly board reporting / analytics packs • Managing a live model of the portfolio, understanding the inputs and building user friendly outputs • Assistance in preparing consolidated financial statements and monthly reports • Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of various parent/’holdco’ companies • Liaising with local Finance Managers at the underlying businesses, within the Glencore finance department and with HG management • Identifying areas for improvement in the control environment and assisting in implementing appropriate changes • Taking control of issues as and when they arise and seeing them through to resolution • Managing annual budgeting process across the group • Assist in co-ordinating the audit process for group accounts as well as certain holdco companies • Transfer pricing studies, analysis and documentation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Qualified Chartered Accountant min 3 years PQE • Strong technical accounting background • Multi-national experience dealing with different cultures and work practices
SKILL SETS • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong excel (tools such as Power BI desirable) • SAP as well as HFM or Hyperion systems experience desirable • Highly organised self-starter • Detail oriented but able to see the “big picture” • Ability to multi task and handle multiple and changing priorities. • Superior organisational skills and ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise critical thinking. • Good with people • Commercial acumen with the willingness to travel occasionally • Compliance and risk management culture.
