The Institute’s Facilities Division is looking to recruit a Media Operative to work in Laboratory Support Services Team on both sites at Chelsea and Sutton. At first, the role will be based primarily in Chelsea and in early 2021 it will move to Sutton. The Media Operative will be responsible for production of buffers, tissue culture, and bacteriological media.
When carrying out all duties the post holder will comply with all relevant sections of the Institute's Approved Documents Library, the Health and Safety Manual, the Environmental Manual, the Facilities Quality Manual and associated documents.
The post holders must have excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure highly effective and appropriate communication with the scientific community. It will be highly advantageous if the applicant will have scientific background and previous work experience in laboratory or similar environment. The full salary range for the post is £26,220 – £36,000. Appointment is expected to be at the beginning of the scale which represents the market rate for the role but consideration will be given to experience and skills. Future progression is based on annual performance review.
