An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Media Relations and Content Officer to join the University of Huddersfield’s Media Relations Team. Are you an experienced media professional, who would enjoy working in a fast-paced office environment in a varied role? Do you have an eye for a good story that will appeal to the media? If so, then this post might be for you.

You will work across the University with Schools, Services and Research Groups to create regular news stories, speeches for key University events and award entries. You will regularly interview senior staff, academic staff, students and high-profile visitors to the University to create content for traditional and digital media channels to reach the University’s diverse target audiences.

You will be educated to degree level, or have relevant experience gained through holding a similar role and have excellent written skills, with proven experience of writing stories, press releases and other written content for multiple audiences. You will have the ability to translate complex information into engaging content for a wider audience. You will have excellent verbal communication skills, in particular interviewing skills. You will be highly motivated with good communication and teamworking skills, enabling you to work independently and effectively in a flexible and responsive environment. You will also be able to effectively prioritise your own workload.
