Full Time (37.5 hpw) with brilliant work/life balance
Salary £33,250 to £43,050 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Brilliant outcomes through integrated health, housing and care. That’s when it hits home.
Be part of something brilliant at Home Group, where clinical interventions work hand in hand with daily care and support. We’re delivering brilliant long term outcomes for people who have complex support needs through integrating health, housing and care.
We have a brilliant opportunity for you to join our amazing team who work together to provide brilliant outcomes for 21 young people (aged 16 to 24) who have a diagnosis of mental health conditions as well as complex needs. Working alongside Wendy our Psychologist and our team of 19 support workers, our service is community based across Gateshead and has four shared houses and five single dispersed properties.
You’ll be supporting our customers to identify the things they want and aspire to do in their lives. This will include the assessment and management of a range of complex occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities. You’ll identify where skills development is required and support customers to achieve their goals through everyday activities. You’ll work closely with our Support Workers to deliver personalised interventions, develop recovery and wellbeing focused plans, treatment planning as well as regular reviews.
The service is managed by Karen, Our Senior Client Services manager and Zeyad our Client Services Manager and uses a strength focus pathway of support, promoting independence and accountability as well as encouraging our young people to achieve and move forward. Each customer has a high quality individual support plan which ensures safety, recovery and wellbeing that maximises independence.
You’ll be joining a pretty amazing team, who have won our Top Team Home Group Star Award in 2019 (that’s how amazing they are!). Our current OT Klaudia, who is amazing, has made the reluctant decision to leave us so she can volunteer across the world (such an amazing opportunity!). She’s helping us with the interviews so you will have the opportunity to ask her first-hand how brilliant the role is and why you should join us! On a day to day basis, you’ll report to Karen and your clinical supervision will be provided by Sarah, our Clinical Practice Expert – OT. As a team we are always looking for new innovative ways of working so we would love to hear any new ideas you can bring to the table.

A bit about you
You’ll have experience of working with adolescent and adult mental health customers/patients, offering occupational therapy based interventions. You’ll hold relevant professional qualifications including HCPC Occupational Therapist. You’ll really impress us with your ability to understand where our customers are in their lives, using evidence based practice, care delivery and current occupational therapy based interventions.
As our service is based across the Gateshead community, you'll need to have a full current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes with business insurance cover. We'll pay you for your mileage.
An Enhanced Disclosure Check will be required for this role. The great news is that we'll pay for this to be done if you don't have a transferable one.
