Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Leicester
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 and including benefits
Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours of work: 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a stand-alone Operations Manager to join a very fast paced manufacturing business. This is a newly created role due to significant growth since the formation of the business in 2001.
This opportunity will require the successful candidate to have an operational and manufacturing background, ideally with some quality control experience and HR knowledge specifically around inductions of new employees and return to work reports.
As the Operations Manager you will be working alongside the Production team, overseeing daily operations across 2 sites both of which are based in Leicester, LE3 and LE4.
Operations Manager expectations:
Operational requirements:
Working very closely with employees based on the shop-floor within a manufacturing environment
Managing projects, installations of new machinery overseen by the Operation Manager;
Liasing with key Directors and Superviors;
Quality Control
Understanding technical/IT and securities within the role
Sharing of best practice
HR requirements:
Dealing with any staff personal welfare issues alongside the Health and Safety Manager;
Internal disciplinary issues;
Working very closely with HR consultancy for advice on any HR issues;
Induction of new starters;
Return to Work interviews
Working closely with new starters, inductions and staff attendance issues;
The Successful Candidate:
Previous Operations experience within an manufacturing environment would be essential for this position, ideally with some elements of quality control and HR experience would be highly advantageous;
Proven ability to provide quality and appropriate advice and guidance to employees;
Attention to detail, able to demonstrate a can do, positive attitude
Excellent IT skills
Well organised with robust planning skills and the ability to deliver
