operations manager

A rapidly growing family run business based in Sandbach are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team. This is a newly created role as previously, family members have been overseeing operations and would readily admit they are not experts in managing operational excellence. The good news is the function is fit for purpose, but they now feel as if having an experienced professional in the role would massively improve processes, eliminate bottle necks and deliver their projects far more effectively.

The business specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of indoor & exterior planting and the majority of the work is project-based crafting their customers’ requirements on site and delivering and installing at their customers which includes a large number of blue chip hotels, restaurants and office spaces throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the Project Management team to forecast workload demand and ensure all jobs are delivered on time and within budget to the customers satisfaction.
• Manage purchasing and warehouse/assembly team and establish the strategy to ensure stock and supplies are purchased cost effectively and are readily available and accessible for all jobs when required.
• Lead meetings with teams and other collaborators to regularly review existing practices, monitoring and analysing data with a view to removing inefficiency and improving results where possible.
• Use KPI’s and data to measure, drive and improve operational performance on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Requirements

• Previous experience working within an project management environment ideally from a supply/install background. Horticultural experience would be highly desirable
• Confident leader and team player with people management and coaching skills capable of problem solving, analysing root cause and implementing decisions and change
• Able to drive output to achieve targets and objectives

Benefits

• Salary in the region of £45,000- £55,000
