Pricing Data Analyst - Salary from £30,000 to £40,000.

Are you looking for a new challenge in your data or pricing career? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst looking for a role that combines technical talent with commercial understanding?

This position offers the opportunity for an experienced data analyst or pricing analyst to join our health insurance pricing team, helping to shape the long-term prosperity of Aviva UK Health. This is a unique role in a growing team that has responsibility for both market pricing and cost of manufacture using General Insurance techniques.

A bit about the job:

Aviva UK Health is entering a period of rapid investment and transformation, with plans that combine significant sales growth, extensive IT re-platforming and a data science strategy that enables agile deployment of Machine Learning models into pricing. You will have a crucial role in leveraging new data, infrastructure, and tooling to achieve our commercial objectives.

The role would initially suit a candidate who would like to gain experience in both sides of pricing - analysing data and building models, whilst also considering commercial objectives and market acceptance. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to progress their career along either of these paths.

This is a multi-disciplinary team, and we would welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds including data, pricing, and actuarial analysis.

Aviva operates a "smart-working" policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role is based at our Eastleigh office

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience building or implementing the results of predictive analytics

  • Exposure to traditional statistical models such as Generalised Linear Models and modern ML methods such as XGBoost

  • Strong presentation and communication skills for collaboration with non-technical stakeholders

  • Commercial acumen, ideally including an understanding of insurance risk and the relationship between price changes and financial outcomes

What you’ll get for this role:

Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow - is a promise we make to our colleagues too. And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you. We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.

  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.

  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days

  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme

  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave

  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work
