We are currently looking for a Principal Building Control Surveyor to join our team.

The Role

As a Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will ensure that the borough’s growth is built safely and to the latest standards. You will assist and deputise for the Building Control Team Leader in the management and provision of Building Control Services and allocate, prioritise and monitor the daily work of the Building Control Team.

You will assist with the provision of Building Control Services to required standards in an efficient, customer-focussed manner by undertaking professional Building Control duties. These duties consist of applications and enforcement of Building Regulations by the scrutiny of deposited plans and the inspection of building work, negotiating and corresponding with applicants and agents and collecting, recording and giving evidence in support of enforcement proceedings.

About You

To join us as a Principal Building Control Surveyor, you will need:

- Building control surveying experience
- A qualification in a building control-related field preferably RICS/CABE membership
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

A fire safety qualification would be beneficial to your application, preferably to Level 6A standard.
