Our Product Management team is looking for people to help inspire the organisation and our customers, to go 'somewhere new', by ensuring we successfully deliver our products and helping to build a portfolio of next generation data, services and platforms.

We want you to contribute to the transformation of OS, deliver commercial growth and empower our customers to meet their goals. Most of all, you'll play a critical role in helping OS to realise its vision: to be recognised as world leaders in geospatial services; creating location insight for positive impact.

About the role

We are looking for a Product Manager to play a key role in managing our products, which are used by customers across the Public Sector and OS Partners for a wide range of applications. The Products team is at the heart of our business, helping us realise our ambition and purpose as a world leading geospatial data organisation.

You will define and deliver data products, services and platforms to fulfil user-centric propositions, balancing market demand, technical feasibility and affordability with a focus on great user experience. To achieve this, you will employ user-centred design, continuous customer engagement and market analysis.

This specific role is focused on our data distribution platform, the OS Data Hub and our Errors and Omissions service, as well our crowd-sourcing and expert-sourcing services and propositions.

You will act as an authority on customer priorities throughout the delivery process, setting a vision for the product and driving relevant feedback to inform continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

You will likely be a self-starting professional with an interest in technology and data. You may have a background in digital platforms, data, software and services whether for start-ups, large organisations or within the public sector and are looking to take on a new challenge. Experience in or strong understanding of digital platforms or data science is also desirable but not essential.

To be the successful candidate you must demonstrate your track record against the following criteria in your application:

  • Excellent understanding of customer needs and market insight and ability to translate this into a strategy and roadmap for future product development
  • Excellent Product ownership with experience championing your products and propositions internally and externally to ensure the execution of marketing communications, product-led investment programmes and sales engagement to achieve within-year revenue targets
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with operational and customer facing colleagues and external partners to deliver product enhancements within expected service and revenue targets
  • Good knowledge of user-centred design and driving engagement with key customers, partners and external stakeholders to ensure that product plans reflect a deep understanding of customer needs and market insights
  • Commitment to relevant professional development and market understanding to continue to provide the appropriate support to the business

The rewards

We want you to love what you do. That's why our benefits package rewards a job well done. Check out how we support and invest in our employees by clicking here. We'll give you:

  • Salary: £43,393 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
  • Performance related bonus
  • A competitive pension scheme
  • 37 hour working week (with flexible working options)
  • 25 days annual leave - (30 days after five years) bank holidays and an extra 3 over Christmas
  • Plus, a suite of excellent additional benefits

Location

OSHQ is based in Southampton, Hampshire but at OS we believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go. We embrace a hybrid working model where we believe the choice is with the individual on when they work from our fantastic office or from home. We want to continue to be an inclusive employer and recognise that one size doesn't necessarily fit all.

Closing date Sunday 8th October 2023

Security

OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.

We believe diversity and inclusion is about working together - in a supportive and respectful environment to reach our full potential. We think combining different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives will help us reach our vision and be trusted and admired across the globe for setting the standards and leading the way. We are looking for dedicated and experienced individuals from a range of backgrounds and welcome applications from any race, age, gender, background, or religion.

We're individually passionate and collectively powerful, and we give you the space to take your career in whichever direction you want.

We're always happy to hear from you, so don't forget to follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn or find us on Facebook.
