We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehabilitation Officer working with Visually Impaired individuals, to join our team to help promote independence through reablement programmes that enable adults and their families overcome the effects of visual loss.
Working 37 hours per week flexibly, the role will be divided into 18.5 rehabilitation (with adults) and 18.5 habilitation (with children and young people). You will conduct visits to those requiring support and intervention, liaising with other agencies, meeting the requirements of contracts on behalf of the local authorities within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Your skills will enable you to carry out reablement assessments in the individual’s home and working with them using a strength based approach to implement comprehensive reablement programmes to maximise their independence and enhance their current skills.
You must possess a Diploma in Higher Education in Rehabilitation Studies (VI) and possess or be prepared to work towards a Recognised Habilitation Officer qualification for Visual Impairment
You will be experienced in delivering a comprehensive range of Short Term focused reablement programmes for people with a sight loss which have clear timescales and outcomes.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills who has the ability to time manage, prioritise caseload and be able to work alone.
