About the role
Our global research team provides original, fundamental insights and analysis for our trading businesses and customers across energy commodities markets. Our research team continually identifies and analyses market information, strategic issues and trends that affect participants in the commodities markets on a regional and global scale.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for:
• Delivering first class research and analysis to our frontline oil businesses and customers; • Performing quantitative and qualitative assessments of the market environment; • Conducting research analysis ensuring assumptions are logical and flow from the financials and market data; • Enhancing and developing oil desk relationships through provision of value-added research; • Providing support to commercial teams on the assessment of market environment; • Carrying on specific projects related to the continuous improvement of our research capability.
Qualifications and Experience
• Strong academic record with Bachelors’ degree in a relevant subject is essential; • Masters’ degree in a relevant subject is preferred; • Solid research experience in Oil & Gas industry is required; • Strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills are essential; • Demonstrable understanding of accounting concepts is essential; • Knowledge of quantitative methodologies and of manipulating, modelling and analysing data is essential; • Excellent Excel skills are preferred; • Excellent attention to detail is required.
