This new and exciting position within the Mass Spectrometry Core Facility based at the UHI Centre for Health Science, Inverness, will lead mass spectrometry support for a wide range of biomedical science projects from across the Institute of Health Research and Innovation, with a particular focus on proteomics.
The successful candidate will have a strong background and publication record in mass spectrometry and will have the capability to develop methods to identify and measure proteins and their post-translational modifications, in samples derived from clinical studies and cell culture experiments.
Collaboration is a key aspect of the role, with an expectation to not only lead independent projects, but also to collaborate with our existing Health Research team, and with collaborators at universities worldwide. We also offer support to a range of local and international companies – an aspect that the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop - and we have a suite of software available to support your world-class research in this subject field.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a subject relevant to physical activity and will be familiar with the latest techniques and technologies used to effectively evaluate both compliance with and the potential benefits of physical activity programmes. « Return to the search results
