Job Duties:
Get the training to change children’s lives for the better
If you want to build a career working with children, the Children’s Residential Services team at Hertfordshire will give you both the training and opportunities to thrive. There are no bad ideas here.
The role
Day-to-day, your main focus will be on providing nurturing therapeutic care to children who’ve experienced traumatic life experiences. You’ll effectively take on the role of a parent: cooking and cleaning and doing school runs, activities and appointments - as well as getting involved in preparing child-centred reports.
It’s shift-based, with late, weekend, Bank Holiday and sleep-in duties. Over time, you’ll develop a deep knowledge of all the key legislation, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, HCC policies and local procedures. But ultimately, you’ll be one of the home’s friendly, engaging personalities - ready to help, whatever the need.
About you
You don’t need any care or social work experience. If you bring a thirst for learning, knack for winning over young people and drive to help children realise their potential - we’ll give you all the training you need. It’s also vital that you have a full driving licence and access to a car for work.
Let’s check all mandatory rules is applied?
