We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual to join us as  Retail E- Commerce Manager. In this key role, you will develop new and existing online revenue streams and work with Save the Children’s Digital Team to showcase our retail high street presence online, including the use of social media as a channel that can drive engagement, affinity, awareness and support.

As Retail E-Commerce Manager you will be responsible for pulling together the different stakeholders from across Save the Children UK to drive forward the Retail Digital Strategy, developing new capabilities ensuring online supporter journeys are optimised for all aspects of the Retail offering.


Reporting into the Head of Product you will lead, define, develop and manage the Retail Team’s digital strategy, ensuring there is a plan that stakeholders can access, understand and buy in to.


You will also drive the performance of Digital Retail channels to meet contribution targets, driving income whilst managing expenditure. Experienced in budgeting and forecasting, you will manage expectations whilst analysing performance and planning to increase contribution and gain efficiencies. In addition you will:

  • Develop a social media strategy across trading propositions, with the Retail Brand & Marketing Manager and Digital Department and delivers against targets.
  • Effectively manage relationships with the digital team and all other contributors/stakeholders including the development team and UX designers.
  • Hands on management of the ongoing development and day-to-day running of the online shop including site content, supply chain, warehousing, fulfilment, customer service and marketing.
  • Work in partnership with the Retail Buyer to develop a clear bought-in goods strategy for the e-commerce platform.
  • Be an advocate for online, championing e-commerce across Retail and the organisation, keeping up-to-date with the latest industry news and opportunities.
  • Facilitate, develop and manage the set-up of third party sites / marketplaces.

To be successful you will have relevant experience of designing and implementing a digital strategy and a commercial focus and approach to Charity retailing, with strong entrepreneurial skills.


A problem solver with strong decision making skills and excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills, you will be innovative and have the ability to adapt well in different situations.


With relevant experience of effective stakeholder management, you will be target driven and be self-motivated with a high level of initiative. In addition you will have:

  • Relevant experience of designing and implementing an e-commerce strategy.
  • Proven experience in planning and managing digital marketing strategies and campaigns, including experience across a mix of PPC, SEO and Email marketing. Relevant experience in developing a social media strategy.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of website metrics and metric tools e.g. Adobe Analytics, GoogleAnalytics.
  • Experience managing budgets, targets and KPIs and strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to work under pressure to deliver to deadlines.
