Applications are invited for a Salaried GP to work within the Renal Unit based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The successful applicant will join a team of Consultants and an existing salaried GP to enhance the complement of medical staff for the Nephrology service within NHS Highland. The post is offered on the basis of 28 hours per week, the specific working pattern to be agreed upon appointment.
The NHS Highland Renal service is based at Raigmore Hospital, but has satellite dialysis units in Wick, Fort William and Stornoway, and holds clinics in Kyle and Portree, with a further satellite unit under development for the Isle of Skye. The Renal service is fully integrated within the department of medicine.
In addition to practising Renal Medicine you will participate with the other members of the renal multi disciplinary team with the aim of providing a holistic, supportive approach to managing the care of dialysis, transplant and supportive care patients.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practice and be a member of the GP performer’s list, along with an interest in developing their skills in chronic disease management. Training will be provided to develop the necessary renal specific skills base.
