Becoming a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

A fantasticopportunity to secure a permanent position as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst within the Education sector. We are looking to expand our analytic capability with the appointment of a Senior Data Analyst who will work alongside and business intelligence analysts and researchers. The role will design and deliver high quality data visualisations of a range of data sources that supports the organisations and the network to achieve our strategic objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

·      Generate monthly and quarterly statistics for reporting to the Department of Education as part of the Grand Funding Agreement.

·      Produce monthly statistics on performance for the Senior Leadership Team and the network

·      Support the Senior Data and Reporting Manager in driving the organisations data strategy, including gathering requirements, converting to a roadmap and ensuring we deliver work to schedule

·      Quality assure analysis done by colleagues for internal and external use

·      Support staff on using PowerBI to produce dashboards

·      Contribute to the creation of a business intelligence strategy

·      Develop a detailed understanding of the organisations data and the strengths and weaknesses of different datasets.

What we’re looking for:

·      Strong data analysis and reporting skills. Able to see the story in the data and determine what is valuable to the business

·      Able to analyse complex datasets and synthesise data from multiple datasets in order to generate insight

·      Automation of data reporting

·      Demonstrable experience of working within teams based on agile or lean project management methodologies

·      At least three years’ experience of SQL including designing databases

·      Knowledge of data visualisation/business intelligence systems and how they can be used to facilitate data usage within an organisation

·      Ability to manage an agile Business Intelligence process including being able to convert user needs into compelling Jira stories and then either deliver the work yourself or manage others through delivering the work.

·      Desirable: Knowledge of Google Analytics and how it can be used to improve user experiences for digital tools
